The monthly Llandovery farmers market is becoming bigger as the highest recorded number of stalls is expected on July 6.
From 10am to 2pm in Market Square, there will be 13 stalls selling beef, charcuterie, sheep’s cheese, cakes, jam, marmalade, chutney, preserves, liquors, spirits, honey, vegetables, flowers and wild plants.
Local musicians such as Rhiannon O’Connor and The Gallstone Cowboys will attend, and the new MP for Carmarthen may make an appearance.
Market manager, Raoul Bhambral said: “This market has everything – food and music and maybe even a little politics! Something for everybody, especially cakes and home-made chocolate for the kids.
"It is great to see so much support for local businesses – I see more people everywhere in town every time!”
Rhiannon, a folk song singer who was inspired by her experiences of farming in rural Wales as a mother of three small boys, will perform 10am to 12pm.
The Gallstone Cowboys will take over from 12pm to 2pm with their selection of popular country songs from the 50s to the 80s alongside a few original compositions.
Since it’s first outing on May 4, Llandovery Farmers Market has been a hit with some locals.
Regular Lyndsey Maiden from Llansadwrn said: “I look forward to going to Llandovery Farmers Market. I like coming to town anyway and this is another attraction.
“It's getting better every time and I love to get to know and talk to the people who produce my food. A lot of my friends go too, so it’s a good chance to catch-up. This is definitely on repeat in my calendar."
The farmers market runs on the first Saturday of every month until October 2024.
Most of the produce on sale comes from around 25 miles of Llandovery.
