Neath Port Talbot Council will be asking members of the public for their opinions and ideas on plans for outdoor public events and festivals in the borough over the next decade.

It comes as part of the new Neath Port Talbot events strategy which is being designed as part of a project funded by the council’s Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Events Fund.

It will see the authority asking residents, visitors and event organisers what type of local outdoor events and festivals they would like to see in the borough over the next ten years as well as what can be done to improve them, with an on-line questionnaire going live this month.

Council officers said the authority wanted to engage with members of the community ahead of their ambitious plans to offer an “all-year-round programme of outdoor events and festivals which enhance the cultural experiences of residents and visitors.”

A spokesperson for Neath Port Talbot Council added: “The results of the questionnaire, together with further engagement work, will go towards the development of our final outdoor events strategy which will be published towards the end of this year.”

The online questionnaire is now available on Neath Port Talbot Council’s website until Wednesday 4 July with paper copies of the survey also available at Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe libraries.
