A MAN has denied coercive control and assaulting a woman.

Lee Wilson, 43, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with three offences.

Wilson was accused of engaging in coercive or controlling behaviour between April 27 and May 25.

It was alleged that Wilson grabbed the woman by her hair and pinned her down, grabbed her and pushed her down the stairs, grabbed her fingers and bent them back, strangled her, and threw a TV at her.

He was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and strangulation, both relating to alleged incidents on May 25.

Wilson, whose given address to the court was Heol Y Llwynau in Trebanos, near Pontardawe, pleaded not guilty to each charge.

“It seems to be [the complainant’s] word against Lee Wilson’s,” defence counsel David Leathley said.

“I don’t think there’s any more complexity to that. It’s who the jury believe.”

Judge Paul Thomas KC listed the case for trial on December 11, and re-admitted Wilson to bail.
