More than 1,000 children in Carmarthenshire have learnt about Welsh red meat production.
The information sessions were arranged by Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC).
HCC partnered with Welsh foodservice company, Castell Howell, for the Fy Mhlat Bwyd / My Food Plate event.
Organised by Carmarthenshire YFC, the educational gathering spanned over three days.
Approximately 1,100 schoolchildren participated at the Carmarthenshire Showground to gain knowledge about Welsh food and farming.
A total of 40 sessions took place during the event.
Participatory activities included children engaging with the natural production process of Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef.
They also learnt about their role in a balanced diet.
Additionally, children got a chance to improve their kitchen skills, as they chopped and prepared seasonal vegetables with HCC before sampling PGI Welsh Beef Bolognese themselves.
Elwen Roberts, HCC consumer executive, said: "Working with schools and children and educating them about Welsh red meat is a core part of the work we do here at Hybu Cig Cymru.
"We were able to speak to 1,100 children across the three days and every child had the opportunity to have a go at preparing vegetables and tasting delicious PGI Welsh Beef, supplied by Castell Howell."
Carys Thomas, county organiser at Carmarthenshire YFC, also provided her feedback on the event, she said: "We were really pleased that HCC were able to join us at the Fy Mhlât Bwyd / My Food Plate event alongside a range of other local businesses and organisations.
"We have received great feedback from schools and hope that all children and teachers found the event both informative and enjoyable."
Ms Roberts further thanked Castell Howell and Carmarthenshire YFC for their collaboration and support, ultimately enabling kids to acquire practical kitchen skills and learn about the importance of Welsh red meat.
