(Image: Llandovery Farmers Market) Market Manager Raoul Bhambral said: “This is such an exciting time for Llandovery. The farmer’s market is supporting local food businesses and artists and is helping the local economy. The Garden Competition has helped wildlife all around the area.”

Llandovery in Bloom organiser, Pat Smith praised the gardeners who entered the Bloom Garden competition.

She said: “I have been involved with the Llandovery in Bloom Garden Competition for more than 15 years and have so enjoyed escorting the judges around our town during that time.

“It was a pleasure to see the beautiful displays in the business category, but more especially to meet the individual gardeners with their obvious love and understanding of their plants.”

On the same day, Pethau Pawb - Llandovery’s new library of things on Stone Street will officially open.

Raoul added: “The Library of Things will help reduce waste and unnecessary spending which will help people to save money. So many benefits all round, right here.”

The farmers market will consist of goods produced within 25 miles of Llandovery such as beef, sheep’s cheese, baguettes, jams, chutneys, vegetables, dried flowers, pasties and freshly brewed coffee with local milk.

CliveJ will perform a selection of music from the 60s to 90s in the morning of the market.

Then, in the afternoon Bekka Stickland will follow with Celtic covers and her original songs.

The Mayor of Llandovery Matthew Paul said: “I am really pleased to see the new Farmer’s Market getting bigger and better every month.

“Llandovery is a historic market town and it's great to have such an interesting and diverse range of producers bringing locals and visitors into the Market Square, boosting trade for the whole town.

“I would like to thank the organisers and colleagues on Llandovery Town Council who have made this happen and wish the Farmer’s Market every success.”

The following Llandovery Farmers Market will take place on Saturday, September 7.
