A summer pantomime show with a twist is coming to a local public hall cinema this month (August 2024).
From August 29 to August 31, Adrian the Alternative Summer Pantomime will take place at Brynamman Public Hall Cinema.
The pantomime features a breakaway from tradition where the dame character is portrayed by a female actress instead of a male actor.
Inclusivity lies at the heart of the show and the performance is designed to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities, autism or other specific needs.
Lights are slightly dimmed; sudden loud noises are minimized, and audience members are free to move around.
The stage manager is an autistic woman named Lily whose attention to detail, dedication and organisation skills are a key part of the production.
Vibrant costumes, fairy tale characters and catchy tunes brings a sunny season to the performance which is perfect for families, friends and theatre lovers of all ages.
Furthermore, there is an exclusive adult-only performance hosted for those aged 16 or over.
This includes a night of grown-up fun, with innuendos, witty banter and surprises that will leave the audience blushing.
The summer pantomime embodies the spirit of community, diversity and joy, providing an experience that leaves the audience in a happy mood.
