A DRUG dealing husband and wife from the Amman and Swansea Valleys who were jailed for selling cocaine have no assets which can be recovered by the authorities, Swansea Crown Court heard.

Cerys Horlick and Benjamin Constance were jailed in June for 26 months and 40 months respectively after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Plain clothes officers saw 25-year-old Horlick making an exchange with the driver of another vehicle. She then returned to a vehicle where Constance, 41, was waiting.

The officers searched the vehicle and the couple, and found “a small amount of cocaine” in the vehicle and “clear evidence of drug supply” on both defendants’ phones.

The couple were arrested, and more drugs were later found on Horlick.

Following their sentencing, Sergeant Luke Tucker said: “Officers witnessed the brazen offending of Cerys Horlick and Benjamin Constance, whose dealing operation was quickly identified following their swift arrests.

“We are delighted that neither of them will now be able to pose a danger to the public.”

Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings were opened against Horlick, of Glan Yr Afon in Ystalyfera, and Constance, of Gwilym Road in Cwmllynfell, after they were jailed.

Hannah George, representing Horlick, said the defendant had refused to leave her cell to attend the hearing.

Ms Wilson, prosecuting, told the court that further investigations by financial investigators and the Crown Prosecution Service had revealed that the couple did not have any assets which could be seized by the authorities, and the Proceeds of Crime application was withdrawn.
