A MAN accused of throwing a television at a woman will face no further action.

Lee Wilson, 43, of Heol Y Llwynau in Trebanos, near Pontardawe, had been charged with coercive control, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and strangulation.

It was alleged that Wilson engaged in controlling behaviour against his partner between April 27 and May 25 by grabbing her by her hair and pinning her down, grabbing her and pushed her down the stairs, grabbing her fingers and bending them back, strangling her, and throwing a TV at her.

He had also been alleged to have attacked and strangled her on May 25.

Wilson pleaded not guilty to each charge, and was due to stand trial on December 11.

“It seems to be [the complainant’s] word against Lee Wilson’s,” defence counsel David Leathley said during the previous hearing.

“I don’t think there’s any more complexity to that. It’s who the jury believe.”

However, after the complainant withdrew her support for the case, the prosecution presented no evidence, and not guilty verdicts were entered.

Wilson had also been accused of breaching his bail after failing to attend Swansea Crown Court to enter his pleas on June 24.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest, and Wilson attended Preston Crown Court on July 10.

At Swansea Crown Court, prosecutor Alycia Carpanini confirmed that no further action was sought against Wilson for the breach of bail.
