There will be a number of roads resurfaced across Carmarthenshire.
As part of an ongoing capital investment programme, £2 million is being spent this year to improve road surfaces.
The resurfacing works, which started on August 12 and will continue until the end of October, will take place at various locations across the county.
A total of around 23 individual sections of road are set to be resurfaced.
This programme is in addition to a significant programme of preventative surface treatment, which is almost complete.
The treatment restores surface condition, seals cracks, and improves skid resistance.
The council says the combined improvements will provide 'safer and improved journeys' for Carmarthenshire’s road users.
Several locations will require full road closures to safely carry out the works.
These closures will be highlighted well in advance, and in coordination with transport operators and emergency services.
Where necessary, the works will be carried out during off-peak hours, with road closures and diversions typically in operation from 7pm.
Motorists are urged to take extra care and try to plan journeys to avoid these areas while the works are being carried out.
Emergency access and access to business premises will be maintained during the works as far as possible.
Councillor Edward Thomas, cabinet member for transport, waste, and infrastructure services, said: "Transportation and highways play a key role in supporting and sustaining our communities to be healthy, safe, and prosperous.
"I am pleased that we have been able to invest £2 million, through the capital investment programme this year, to improve road surfaces in Carmarthenshire."
