CHANGES to bin collection dates in Carmarthenshire due to the bank holiday have been confirmed.
Carmarthenshire County Council has written to all homes which usually have their bins collected on a Monday with the upcoming bank holiday next week.
Letters have been sent to all properties due to have their bins collected on August 26 to inform them of their alternative collection day.
The new bin collection dates have been updated on the council’s website and collection checker, and its email and text reminder service will also notify affected residents of the change in their collection day.
Cllr Edward Thomas, Carmarthenshire council’s cabinet member for transport, waste and infrastructure services, said: “If your waste is usually collected on a Monday, there are changes to your collection this August bank holiday and you will receive a letter with your collection arrangements.
“A free and simple way of receiving weekly reminders of your waste collection date and any changes to your collection is to sign up to the council’s email or text reminders.
“Thank you to all residents for supporting our efforts to recycle more. Please keep recycling as much as possible and remember the three black bag limit.”
All Carmarthenshire recycling centres will be open as normal on bank holiday Monday.
Residents can sign up to the council’s email or text reminder service at carmarthenshire.gov.wales/recycling, and can check the opening times of the county’s recycling centres at carmarthenshire.gov.wales/home/council-services/recycling-bins-and-litter/recycling-centres.
