The chair of Carmarthenshire County Council has chosen two important causes to support during his term of office.
Councillor Handel Davies, who represents the Llandovery ward, will be raising money and awareness for LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity and Prostate Cymru.
LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity helps children and their families who are receiving treatment for cancer and leukaemia at the Children’s Hospice for Wales.
Prostate Cymru is a charity in Wales that supports men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.
To donate to the causes, people can do so by visiting the chair’s JustGiving pages.

Councillor Davies said: “It is a great honour to serve as Chair of the County Council.
“As Chair, I am very fortunate to be given the opportunity to visit a wide variety of events across our county that reflect the kind-hearted and hard-working character of our residents, communities and organisations.
“Taking inspiration from the people I have met in my role; I would like to also use my time as Chair to raise as much money as possible for LATCH Children’s Cancer Charity and Prostrate Cymru.”
The chair is the first citizen of Carmarthenshire County Council and is elected at the annual general meeting.
