A charity golf day raised £4995 for a young member of the club who suffered from a brain tumour.
The event was hosted on June 15 at Garnant Golf Club by captain Nick Stephens in support of 17-year-old Finnley Jones and to raise funds for the charity, LATCH.
A golf competition was held along with an auction for sports memorabilia, golf equipment, food, drink and an evening music performance from band The Thrillionaires.
Nick said: “We had two lots of food. This included a buffet with sandwiches and burgers. Then presentations were held for the charity.
“One of our club members had a brain tumour so there was a good purpose to the day. It was a privilege to organise the event and help a charity that needs the funding. It makes a huge difference.
“Fin is on the mend. He’s been very fortunate with how he has responded to treatment and he’s back playing rugby. He’s back on track, despite initially being told he wouldn’t be able to play rugby again.”
