FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze in a flat above a nail salon in Ammanford.
Emergency services were called to College Street on the morning of Saturday, August 31.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson asked for people to avoid the area at around 9.10am.
“Emergency services are dealing with an incident on College Street Ammanford, close to the square,” the spokesperson said.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey. Thank you.”
Sophia Nails confirmed that a fire had broken out in the flat above their shop.
“Fire at the flat of our shop,” a statement read on the salon’s Facebook page.
“We have to close the shop today. Please contact with us to reschedule appointment. So sorry for this inconvenience. Thanks so much for always support us.”
A number of fire crews attended the incident, with the firefighters using an aerial ladder platform to help them battle the fire.
