An Amman Valley folk band has raised more than £1,700 for Wales Air Ambulance with their tour.

Jac y Do has been in the entertainment industry for almost 40 years.

The band has backed numerous local and national organisations over the years.

Following the death of a band member to cancer five years ago, the band decided to organise a short tour in his memory and to support the charity that was of tremendous support to his family.

The successful tour inspired the band to make it an annual tradition.

Each year, Jac y Do chooses a new charity to donate to.

After reaching an agreement, they establish contact with different venues to ascertain their interest.

On the decided dates, the band performs for about 45 minutes at each venue.

They have just one condition - that they're allowed to collect donations and advertise their "Just Giving" page online.

This year, they selected Wales Air Ambulance as their charity of choice.

They had successful evenings, touring venues such as Ammanford Cricket Club, the Great Western in Ammanford, Red Lion in Llandybie, and the Salutation in Llandeilo.

They also made stops at the Forest Arms in Brechfa, the Railway Hotel in Nantgaredig, and finally at Tafarn y Mansel in Drefach.

All of these venues warmly welcomed the band and aided significantly in their charitable endeavour.

The band managed to raise a total of £1,744 this year.

Band members Eifion, Keri, and Dave visited the Air Ambulance base in Dafen, Llanelli to present a cheque at the end of August.

As for their charity selection for 2025, they are yet to decide.

However, one thing is certain – Jac y Do will continue its annual tradition of fun, entertainment and goodwill.
