AN AMMANFORD man accused of twice attacking and strangling a woman will appear in court later this month.

Barry Llewellyn, of Pantyffynnon Road, was due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, September 6 to enter his pleas to four offences.

It was alleged that he attacked and strangled a woman in Ammanford on May 2, and launched a similar attack – causing the woman actual bodily harm – on August 4.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating, and two offences of intentional strangulation.

Llewellyn, 43, did not attend the hearing, and Judge Catherine Richards issued a warrant for his arrest.

“Mr Llewellyn is not present in court,” defence counsel David Singh said.

“I do not know the reasons for his absence.”

After subsequently attending court, Llewellyn was ordered to reappear on September 20 to enter his pleas.
