A MAN has been cleared of having indecent images of children.

Hefin Davies, 31, was charged with two offences of making indecent images of children in the Ammanford area in 2022.

It was alleged that he had seven Category B and two Category C images between January 26 and February 16 of that year.

Davies, of Cwmgarw Road in Upper Brynamman, denied the offences at Swansea Crown Court on April 17, and a trial was set for September 30.

However, the case came back before the court, and prosecutor Brian Simpson said that, following a review of the evidence, the prosecution would offer no evidence on either charge.

“The decision has been made that there is no realistic prospect of prosecution,” Mr Simpson said.

Judge Geraint Walters vacated the trial date, and entered formal not guilty verdicts on both charges.

“The defendant is now free to leave the court,” he said.
