A campaign ride to raise awareness for the way to pass horses safely took place in Trimsaran on the weekend.
The Carmarthenshire Pass Wide and Slow Awareness Ride and Drive event happened on Saturday morning as part of an international campaign to improve horse and rider road safety.
This event was especially important as it was also in memory of Katie, a 15-year-old Welsh Section A horse.
Katie was spooked by a van while on a ride with her owner, Laura Grant, in 2023, leading to injuries that required her to be put to sleep.
The event was supported by Llanelli MP Dame Nia Griffith, County Councillor Kim Broom, and the Dyfed-Powys Police Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The campaign aims to educate drivers and other road users to maintain a two-metre distance and a speed of 10mph when passing horses.
