A 'LEGENDARY' blind man from Ammanford raised £1050.01 for a visually impaired group after taking on a 77-mph zip wire.

On June 27, Lyn Thomas went to Zip World Tower in Aberdare and went down a zip wire alongside friend Nicola Mattocks.

Lyn was cheered on by members of the Tuesday Visually Impaired Group (T VIC) who made the trip from Ammanford.

“Everyone was behind me. It was a great day. I felt like a bird when going down the zip wire. All the members were there clapping and laughing. I do something for charity every year.”

T VIC meet every week at Ammanford Evangelical Church and provide a range of fun activities for people who are visually impaired.

Lyn recently donated the cheque to T VIC to help the club pay rent to the church, organise transport to and from the venue with the minibus and plan more days out.

Lyn continued: “I’m hoping to do the Three Peaks Challenge. I would do anything for charity. Every penny counts. From the bottom of my heart.”
