A Carmarthenshire landmark will be hosting the Dragon Bonsai Autumn Show this month.

Aberglasney will open its doors for the two-day event on Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13, aimed at bonsai tree enthusiasts and admirers.

Organised by the Dragon Bonsai Club, the show will offer everything from advice to equipment for bonsai lovers.

A highlight of this autumn's event will be the introduction of super-mini bonsai trees.

There will also be a bonsai tree show.

Indoor and outdoor bonsai trees, along with tools, wire, and other essentials, will be available for sale.

A club member and talented ceramic artist will showcase and sell his handmade bonsai pots.

An open clinic will be available for those who need advice on their trees.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bonsai trees for guidance on care and styling ideas from members of the Dragon Bonsai Club.

There will even be opportunities for attendees to try their hand at styling a bonsai tree.

Simon Evans, chairman of the Dragon Bonsai Club, said: "Following on from our successful spring show back in March, we are now looking forward to holding our autumn show at Aberglasney.

"It is the perfect backdrop for our event.

"We hope that all those who enjoy the beauty of bonsai trees will come along and visit us, and possibly consider joining our club which meets weekly at Aberglasney."

Jim Stribling, Aberglasney’s director of operations, said: "We are pleased to host the Dragon Bonsai Club meetings each Sunday at Aberglasney and look forward to the autumn show being held in the mansion.

"We hope visitors to the Gardens will enjoy this unique Bonsai experience."

The Dragon Bonsai Autumn Show is free to attend, but normal admission fees to Aberglasney Gardens will still apply.

The event will be open from 10am on both Saturday and Sunday.
