A request for a healthy takeaway place at Ammanford Recreation Ground has been compared to a "hornet’s nest".
At the last Ammanford Town Council meeting, it was revealed that permission was asked to place a converted horsebox near the rugby ground, selling acai bowls and smoothies.
However, the small business would be separate to Ammanford Rugby Club.
Councillor Clare Hope said: “It would be starting more than a hornet’s nest. If businesses start using that land, where do you draw the line? We could end up with 14 horseshoe boxes.”
Councillor Wayne Erasmus added: “If it’s not linked to the rugby club then it’s a no.”
Councillor Emyr John agreed: “If we set a precedent for one, it would encourage many other businesses to do the same.”
However, one councillor did see the value in allowing such a business to exist.
Councillor Zoe Ross said: “If it brings people to the area, it would be great.”
