A new festival to mark the Coalfields Communities will take place at The Welfare in Ystradgynlais.
Titled Autumn Rising, the festival will also celebrate the 90th year of the building.
The event will highlight the cultural, positive, and progressive developments from mining regions, including arts, activism, history, and contributions to political development and democracy.
The Welfare intends to make this an annual event involving children, young people, and adults.
Director Wynne Roberts said: "Our long-term goal is to offer fresh insights into our heritage and the opportunity to experience the arts and culture from wider global mining communities.
"Our Autumn Rising programme kicks off next Wednesday, 9th October, with two screenings of How Green Was My Valley, a John Ford classic chosen by our newly resident film club.
"That’s followed by a really varied programme, which we hope has something for everyone including theatre, music, visual arts and a hands-on community day on Sunday, October 13 where we’re inviting the people of Ystradgynlais to come and celebrate with us."
The community fun day runs from 12pm to 4pm and is free for all.
Paid events include theatre, exhibitions, and music performances.
Tickets for these can be bought online, by phone, or in person. More information is on The Welfare website.
