CCTV footage which showed a teenage girl stabbing two teachers and a pupil at an Ammanford school has been released.

The teenager, now 14, is on trial at Swansea Crown Court accused of three offences of attempted murder – which she denies.

Jurors were played CCTV footage from Ysgol Dyffryn Aman on April 24 which showed the defendant’s movements in the lead up to the attack, as well as the attacks themselves.

The girl – who cannot be named due to her age – pleaded guilty instead to three charges of wounding with intent, as well as having a knife on a school grounds.

The court had previously heard that the defendant had brought her dad’s fishing multi-tool in to school.

When asked why she brought a knife to school, she said: “Because I felt worried, scared."

“I didn't trust the system, the people,” she added.

The jury heard that teacher Fiona Elias had asked the defendant to leave the school’s lower hall during morning break as she didn’t have permission to be there from her head of year.

The defendant went out to speak with Mrs Elias in the corridor outside, and Mrs Elias told her again she couldn’t be in the hall. The teacher then left to go on duty outside, whilst the defendant returned to the hall.

The footage played to the jury showed the defendant approach Mrs Elias outside, who was talking to Liz Hopkin.

The defendant asked Mrs Elias again to be allowed in to the hall, and the teacher asked her about her uniform. She then told the defendant: "Can you stop looking at me in that way?", before asking what was in the defendant’s pocket.

The defendant said: ‘Do you want to see what's in my pocket?’ and brought the knife out before attacking Mrs Elias - shouting "I'm going to kill you. I'm going to f****** kill you" as she did so, Mrs Elias told the jury.

"When I saw the knife and when she started stabbing me I thought I was going to die. I thought that was it,” she said.

“Her face - she lost it. It was like the red mist had come down.

Ms Hopkin grabbed the defendant, allowing Mrs Elias to get away. The defendant dropped the multi-tool, but picked it up and stabbed Ms Hopkin in the neck, back and side of her chest.

"I thought that was the end for me,” Ms Hopkin said. “I felt she's going to kill me. She's going to kill me and that's going to be it.

"She went for my neck and there wasn't anything I could do to stop her really."

The footage showed teachers Stephen Hagget and Darrell Campbell speaking to the defendant in an attempt to calm her after Ms Hopkin had got away.

Mr Campbell told the jury the defendant let out a scream “like something out of a horror movie”, and Mr Hagget reported she shouted the teenage victim’s name followed by “I'm going to f****** kill you” before running past them and attacking the pupil.

Mr Campbell restrained the girl whilst the victim was taken away, and the knife was taken from her.

Ms Hopkin was the most seriously injured, and was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff by air ambulance after receiving stab wounds to her neck, shoulder blade, side of her chest, and leg.

The other two victims were treated at Morriston Hospital. Mrs Elias had stab wounds to each bicep and a wound to her thumb, whilst the pupil had a wound to her outer right upper arm.

The trial continues at Swansea Crown Court.
