Nominations are being sought for an agriculture award.
The Farmers’ Union of Wales Carmarthenshire is looking for candidates for the 2024 FUW United Counties Agriculture and Hunters Society Award.
This accolade recognises individuals who have made an "outstanding contribution" to agriculture in Carmarthenshire over the last few years.
The winner will be celebrated at a special dinner event at Llandyfaelog’s Red Lion on November 8.
People can put forward their nominations, which will be evaluated by representatives from the Farmers’ Union of Wales and the United Counties Agricultural and Hunters Society.
David Waters, the FUW Carmarthenshire county executive officer, said: "We are looking for nominations from the county’s agricultural communities, of an individual from Carmarthenshire who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.
"They may work as a farmer, run an agricultural business or work within the wider industry and have supported people, been innovative or have given years of service to the profession."
The nomination should be submitted as a letter or citation, providing comprehensive details about the work and accomplishments of the nominee, with an emphasis on their positive impact on agriculture within Carmarthenshire.
Mr Waters added: "If you think you know someone who has made a difference to the agricultural world, then please nominate her or him."
Last year’s winner was John Owen, the former farm manager of Gelli Aur Agricultural College near Llandeilo.
Mr Owen was praised for his key role in establishing the Farm Diversification and Technology Centre, which offered advice to farmers to help them increase their earnings.
Mr Waters said: "John Owen was a worthy winner and also had a number of accolades to his bow.
"Those included as a board of trustees member of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers; chair of the South West Wales TB Eradication Board and he was on the management committee of the British Grassland Society representing Welsh members.
"His contribution to agriculture was a great one."
