An Abercrave landmark has been given an award for sustainability.
The National Showcaves Centre for Wales, Dan-yr-Ogof, was recognised for its efforts to tackle climate change at the Powys Business Awards.
The popular tourist attraction received the Excellence in Sustainability Award.
Geraint Jones, the centre's manager, said: "We are very excited and thankful to win this award which means a lot to the business.
"Investing in sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint are very important, especially at a time of high energy costs."
The National Showcaves Centre for Wales has taken several measures to cut costs and reduce its environmental impact.
This includes producing its own green energy.
The attraction has planted more than 80,000 broadleaf trees to increase water retention and reduce the risk of flooding.
These trees also provide a wildlife habitat and will absorb 80,000 tonnes of CO2 across their 100-year lifespan.
A second water turbine has been installed to produce more than 60KW of green energy for the caves, with the excess fed into the National Grid.
Solar panels have been fitted to make the coffee shop, self-catering cottages, caravan park, and dinosaur park energy self-sufficient.
A new heat pump has also been installed to save money on heating the swimming pool.
The attraction's museum features interactive elements to inform visitors about climate change and environmental issues.
The site also hosts a breeding programme for shire horses, an endangered species.
Ashford Price, chairman of the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, said: "Staff feel part of an attraction that is really helping Mother Nature by not adding to the present global warming scenario."
Cabinet secretary for the economy, Rebecca Evans, congratulated the winners, saying: "We’re proud to sponsor an award that recognises and celebrates how companies across Powys are leading the way to a more sustainable future.
"Dan-yr-Ogof’s commitment to sustainability demonstrates how the greener economy we are building in Wales brings with it a wealth of opportunities."
The judges commended the company’s commitment to sustainability, saying it will ensure future generations will be able to enjoy one of Wales’ most impressive natural wonders.
