A drive-in street food cinema is set to bring a spooky film festival to Carmarthen Showground.

Street Food Cinema, organised by Street Food Circus, will host a Halloween movie event for the first time at the showground.

The event will run from October 24 to October 31.

The drive-in cinema experience is set to transform the showground's indoor warehouse space with live pre-show performances and a fancy dress competition.

The event will feature a variety of films, including family favourites such as Coco and Addams Family Values, classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Beetlejuice, recent hits including The Joker and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and horrors such as The Ritual and Halloween.

Each film will be shown on a large screen with the sound broadcast through the car radio.

There will be two screenings a day on weekdays and four on weekends, with a special late-night showing of Halloween on October 31 at 10pm.

The cinema event also boasts a range of street food, with traders specialising in Americana-themed drive-in classics.

Visitors can enjoy Smokin' Griddle smash burgers and fried chicken, Big Apple hot dogs, and Mr Soft deluxe soft-serve Halloween ice cream.

Street Food Cinema will also offer sharing boxes of retro sweets, sodas, and popcorn.

All food is ordered from the car and delivered by a team of costumed, roller-skating waiters.

Street Food Circus's founder, Matt the Hat, said: "We’ve run our sold-out Halloween drive-in, dine-out experience in Cardiff for the last few years.

"We’re thrilled to be bringing it to Carmarthen, which has been home to our Christmas events for the last few years.

"We’re building a great experience around each film to max out the fun and entertainment from the minute people pull up in their cars.

"The programme has something for everyone - from daytime matinees for the whole family, through to date-night classics or movies for a great mates night out."
