THESE defendants from Carmarthenshire have had their cases heard in courts in Wales and England.
The two defendants were charged with running a red light and assaulting a police officer.
Their cases were heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Teesside Magistrates’ Court.
Here’s a round-up of their cases.
KATHERINE MORSE, 59, of Llansadwrn, ran a red light in Newport.
Morse was driving a Toyota RAV4 on the westbound A48 Southern Distributor Road on February 17. She went through a red light at the junction with Usk Way.
She pleaded guilty using the single justice procedure.
At Newport Magistrates’ Court on September 4, Morse was fined £40 and was ordered to pay £90 in costs and a £16 surcharge. She also had three points added to her licence.
CHRISTOPHER ELLIS, 43, of Heol Trefrhiw in Ammanford, admitted assaulting a police officer in Hartlepool.
Ellis was accused of attacking a male police officer in Hartlepool on August 29.
He pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker, and was ordered to pay the officer £50 in compensation to the officer at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on September 17.
Ellis must also pay £85 in costs and a £72 surcharge. He was also fined £180, which had been uplifted by £60 due to the offence being committed against an emergency worker.
