A TEENAGER was caught with a kitchen knife in Ammanford town centre.
The 17-year-old – who cannot be named due to his age – had previously pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in a public place.
The court heard that the teenager had a kitchen knife with a seven-inch blade in Ammanford town centre on September 15.

The defendant, from the Ammanford area, admitted the offence at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on September 24.
The case was adjourned, and the teenager returned to court on October 8 and was sentenced to a nine-month youth rehabilitation order. As part of this, the defendant must complete four youth rehabilitation requirement days.
The teenager must also pay £85 in costs and a forfeiture and destruction order was made for the knife.
