A MAN has denied brandishing a metal pole as a weapon and threatening to kill another man, but admitted affray.
Lazlo Landek, 35, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with three offences.
He was alleged to have threatened to kill a man on September 14, and having an offensive weapon in a public place, relating to a metal pole on Arfryn in Upper Brynamman on that same date.
The defendant was further charged with affray for threatening to use unlawful violence towards another.
He pleaded guilty to affray, but denied the remaining offences.
The prosecution indicated that this plea was acceptable, and that a trial would not be sought on the threat or weapon charges.

Judge Paul Thomas KC raised concerns over Landek’s previous convictions for violence, including five offences of battery and possession of a bladed article.
“It’s conceded he does have relevant previous convictions,” said Dan Griffiths, appearing for the defendant.
“The was a short incident. There was no actual violence used, it was threatened.”
Judge Thomas adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Landek, of Arfryn in Upper Brynamman, was granted bail, and was ordered to return to court to be sentenced on November 15.
