A MAN has been cleared of sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Douglas Treadwell had been accused of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two offences of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child – all of which he denied.

Treadwell, now 54, was accused of carrying out a sex act on a boy aged between 13 and 15, and causing the boy to carry out a sex act on him.

He was also accused of inciting a boy to masturbate in front of him – also during the same period.

The alleged offences were said to have taken place in Carmarthenshire between April 2013 and April 2017.

Treadwell, of Longacres in Bridgend, appeared for trial at Swansea Crown Court, and the jury returned to court after around four hours to find him not guilty of all charges.

Judge Huw Rees thanked the jury for the attention and consideration they had given the case across the four-day trial.

Addressing Treadwell, Judge Rees said: “You are discharged from this indictment. You leave the court with your good character intact.”
