Karate kids belonging to a local dojo near Ammanford have passed their recent grade tests.
The students who attend Penygroes Higashi Karate club passed their grades at Narberth and Penygroes Hall on August 17 and September 14 under 6th Dan Sensei Jon Dunn.
Another pupil named Lloyd passed his 5th Kyu Grade in Cardiff on October 15, making it the third successful Higashi karate grading in the last three months.
5th Dan Sensei Susy Soravia expressed how proud she was of her students and how all their hard work deserved this success.
Penygroes karate club is also home to two disabled students who have attained brown belts and one deaf boy who has achieved a green belt.
The club is open to everyone and prides itself on being like a family.
Their classes help children, teenagers and adults build confidence.
This includes self-defence classes, kata (form) and basic which improves fitness and mental health.
Higashi families exist across Wales, England and Ireland which involves travelling to courses, training and grading.
