Every month, various public notices are published to keep the public up to date on goings-on across Carmarthenshire.

Here, we look at all the public notices published on the Public Notice Portal in October, which will have an impact in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Tycroes road closure

Heol Ddu in Tycroes is closed to traffic from its junction with Penygarn Road for 480 metres in a north-westerly direction.

The closure, agreed by Carmarthenshire County Council, is in place now and is expected to run until Friday, November 29.

This is to allow National Grid to install a 33KV cable for Bryn y Rhyd solar farm.

Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.

An alternative route is in place for traffic.

Llandybie footpath closure extension

The closure of Public Footpath 51/120 (Part) on Blaenau Road, Llandybie has been extended.

Carmarthenshire County Council made the order on October 23, 2023, due to the likelihood of danger to the public caused by a dangerous bridge structure. It has remained closed since October 25, 2023.

The structure still poses a danger and therefore, the cabinet secretary for north Wales and transport has consented to extend the closure by a further period of six months.

The temporary closure will continue until April 24, 2025, or until there is no longer a risk to the public.

Tycroes footpath closure extension

The closure of Public Footpath 51/0/52 from Cwmfferws Road to Rhos Terrace, Tycroes has been extended.

This closure is required because of the continued risk to the public caused by a dangerous bridge structure.

The order came into force on October 25, 2023, and was due to expire after a period of six months.

However, due to the continued risk to the public, the closure was previously extended and has now been extended by a further period of six months.

It will now remain closed until April 24, 2025 or until there is no longer any danger to the public.

LSN Diffusion Ltd, Ammanford - Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence

Samuel Jones and partners trading as Villa Motor Repairs (140 Cilmaengwyn Road, Pontardawe, SA8 4QN) are applying for a licence to use Villa Motors in Swansea and LSN Diffusion Ltd in Ammanford as operating centres for 15 goods vehicles and 15 trailers.

Owners or occupiers of land near the operating centres who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE stating their reasons, within 21 days of this notice, which was published on October 14.

Representors must at the same time send a copy of their representations to the applicant at the address given at the top of the notice.

Llanedi temporary footpath closure extension

The closure of Public Footpath 34/48 on Pontardulais Road, Llanedi has been extended.

This is due to public safety concerns until works of replacing an unsafe wall along the length of Footpath 34/48 are completed.

The order came into force on May 8, 2023, and was due to expire after a period of six months.

However, as the works have not yet been completed, the closure was extended after the initial six month period and has now been extended by a further six month period.

The temporary closure order will continue in force until, and including May 6, 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
