As winter approaches, Carmarthenshire County Council is urging residents to be ready for the challenges the season brings.
The council says it is committed to prioritising key strategic routes and critical roads, especially those leading to hospitals and emergency facilities, during adverse weather.
Motorists have been advised to prepare for winter driving conditions by regularly checking weather forecasts and ensuring their vehicles are ready for the cold months.
This includes checking tyre pressure, antifreeze levels, and lights.
The council has encouraged residents to familiarise themselves with the updated gritting routes for this year, which can be accessed via the council's website.
Councillor Edward Thomas, cabinet member for transport, waste, and infrastructure services, said: "As we approach the winter months, it’s essential for our community to stay informed and prepared for seasonal changes.
"Our commitment to maintaining accessible routes reflects our dedication to supporting everyone during the winter season.
"Together, we can ensure a safer environment for all."
In addition to preparing for winter driving, residents should also be aware of potential flooding.
Property owners at risk are encouraged to keep their own stock of empty sandbags and sufficient sand to fill the bags during times of potential flooding.
