There will be no road closures when works in Ammanford start this week, according to the council.
Carmarthenshire County Council has confirmed that its latest works will begin on Monday, November 4.
The council aims to improve Market Square and the Railway Crossing between Quay Street and Foundry Road.
Cllr Hazel Evans, cabinet member for regeneration, leisure, culture, and tourism, said: "We are grateful to local residents and businesses for their patience as we carry out improvement works.
"The county council is taking every possible step to ensure that any disruption will be kept to a minimum during this period."
Carregaman Lane will have a localised and temporary traffic management system for the installation of a new crossing point, but Cllr Evans assured that road closures will not be necessary.
The council is also collaborating with the outdoor market to relocate it during the works to minimise disruption.
The council said businesses on Quay Street have been informed about the works.
