Llandeilo's Festival of Senses was 'a huge success' after community efforts saved it.

The three-day Christmas event, which took place from Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17, was nearly cancelled until community members, volunteers, local businesses, Llandeilo Town Council, and Carmarthenshire County Council intervened.

Member of Parliament for Caerfyrddin Ann Davies officially opened the festival on Friday evening.

Rhosmaen Street saw hundreds gather to watch Santa on his sleigh with reindeer, followed by a lantern parade and a samba band.

At 7.15pm, Llandeilo mayor Charlotte Morgan counted down to light the town's Christmas tree.

She also awarded Jayne Rees from Eve's Toy Shop for the best Christmas window in Llandeilo.

Saturday continued with music and dance on the King Street stage, featuring schools and choirs.

As night fell, a parade of tractors adorned with Christmas lights journeyed through the town.

Sunday began with a 5km Santa Run, and a shorter course for junior runners.

Music and dance performances continued, alongside stalls selling food, drink, and Christmas gifts across the town.

The festival not only celebrated the festive season but also highlighted the importance of community support in organising such events.
