A local councillor was given a lifetime achievement award following almost 50 years of service to the community.
Cllr Kevin Madge, who is currently Shadow Cabinet Member for Resources and Environment at Carmarthenshire County Council received the award on Saturday (November 16) in Llandudno.
The award was presented at the Welsh Labour conference and was signed off by Leader of Welsh Labour, Eluned Morgan.
Cllr Madge said: “I have served at different lengths. It is an honour to be recognised by the Labour party and I am delighted they gave me the award. I’ve done all five jobs in the county council.
“Politics is not an easy game. But as a councillor, I am undefeated. I would like to thank the people who have elected me all these years. Hopefully, I’ve helped people with a range of projects.
“I’ve had a long career, and it was an absolute pleasure to be recognized. I started when I was 18 years old, and I am officially the longest serving member in Wales.”
