A popular family-run supermarket located near Ammanford will have a grand reopening tomorrow (Friday, November 22).
Tycroes Supermarket closed on November 3 due to refurbishment works.
To celebrate the reopening, Tycroes primary school will be in attendance singing Welsh songs and Tina Higgins and the community council will make an appearance.
Owner of Tycroes Supermarket, Mr Mandip Dale said: “We are really excited for the grand reopening. The refurbishment is one of the most important things that we have done. We have been open for 40 years.
“The store is so important to us, our family and our staff. We’ve even kept our service going in the last few weeks with by opening a temporary shop with a 20-room container.
“We have been part of the community for a while, and we plan to stay here a lot longer.”
Mr Dale took over the business from his father, who retired last year.
It is Mr Dale and his wife’s first year running the shop, and they are keen to maintain a good reputation.
Mr Dale continued: “We haven’t really changed it, compared to how my mum and dad used to run it. We want the community to feel like they can rely on us as we continue to be here going forward.”
However, the supermarket has changed it’s branding from Premier to One Stop.
“We have new products and it’s a new promotion. It was a natural process. We are still independent.”
The reopening will also feature the charity Tycroes Local Aid, church and chapel leaders, local business owners, members of the community and a ribbon cutting.
