Ten therapy chairs worth more than £45,000 have been purchased for Glangwili Hospital.
The chairs, funded by donations from the public, were bought by Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board.
They will be used in the hospital's Medical Assessment Unit and Clinical Decisions Unit.
The chairs have been specifically chosen based on patient feedback and come with a multitude of features for added comfort.
These include a fixed head pillow, cushioning to prevent pressure damage, an intravenous pole for patients with a drip, a manual footrest, adjustable armrests, and an illuminated remote control.
Senior sister Carys Davies said: "We are so grateful that generous donations from our local communities have enabled us to purchase the new therapy chairs.
"Patients can be sat in the chairs for many hours.
"It is therefore important that their wellbeing is maintained by having comfortable chairs with a recline function so that they can have a rest if needed.
"This is especially important as the Medical Assessment Unit provides a 24-hour service."
"These new chairs will lead to a more comfortable and enhanced patient experience, and we hope they will benefit patients for many years to come."
Nicola Llewelyn, head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, said that the community support helps the charity provide services over and above what the NHS can provide across the health board.
