A Tycroes mother of four is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to drink-driving with two of her children in the car.
Ammanford Magistrates Court heard how Lesley Wilkes, of 50 Tycroes Road, was found to be four times over the legal drink-drive limit after being arrested at the roadside by police at Pontaman Road on August 18.
The 41-year-old, who was said to be suffering from depression, had decided to visit her parents in the Amman Valley and took two of her teenage children with her.
Magistrates were told the defendant had been drinking alcohol throughout the day and was said to have had a bottle of vodka in her handbag when her concerned family called the police.
When officers attempted to take a breath test, Wilkes became hysterical and so a blood test had to be taken.
The bench ordered a full pre-sentence report to be carried out and ordered that the defendant should appear before Llanelli magistrates for sentence on Wednesday, October 29.
Wilkes was also banned from driving until the matter was fully heard.
