THE Yes for Wales campaign has announced the appointment of Ammanford-born Lee Waters Ð a former ITV Wales political correspondent Ð as one of five vice-chairs selected from different walks of life, to build on a peopleÕs campaign under its chair Welsh Rugby Union boss Roger Lewis.
A spokesman said: "Mr Waters, who is Director of Sustrans, the UK-wide sustainable transport charity, has been chosen to be an ambassador for the campaign to help ensure that people across Wales understand the issues and the importance of securing a Yes vote in the March 3 referendum." "In his role as vice-chair, Mr Waters, who now lives in Barry, will help spread the message that a Yes win in the referendum will mean a stronger voice for Wales and and that the responsibility for making decisions on the everyday matters that only affect the people of Wales are made in Wales." Lee Waters said: ÔI've seen at first hand the frustrations and delays that take place because of the way the Assembly is currently forced to work.
"A Yes vote would streamline the system and make it easier to pass laws to improve communities across Wales."
