A WREATH has been laid in Ammanford to mark 100 years since the formation of the Royal British Legion.
Major Ken Burton, President of the Ammanford branch of the RBL, placed the centenary wreath on the Memorial Gates at Ammanford Park on Iscennen Road.
Speaking on Saturday, May 15, Major Burton said: "Today we celebrate the centenary of the British Legion nationally. The branch in Ammanford was officially formed in September of 1921 and events to mark our centenary will be held if conditions allow.
"The RBL over the centenary has, and still does, worked tirelessly to support ex-service personnel and their families.
"We have alway had the support of our communities and every branch now welcomes anyone, not only ex-service people, to become members and help us to continue our work."
