An Ammanford teenager is close to reaching his goal of finishing in the top ten of the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship.
With only two races left, there is a seven-point gap between Lewis Jones and 10th place after his latest round.
The penultimate round of the championship took place at Donington Park in Leicestershire, an iconic venue and the oldest UK motorsport circuit still in operation.
Lewis raced a different track layout to the one he did earlier this year with his Kawasaki when he finished 13th. This time, he raced the 2.49mile GP circuit.
In free practice one, Lewis was happy with the feel of the bike which showed as he completed the session in fourth.

Free practice two was a different story completely, as the weather played a huge part in the proceedings.
Lewis didn’t gain much that session as he only managed one dry lap before the rain hit and he needed to change tyres, but luckily the forecast was due to improve for the rest of the weekend.
After Saturday qualifying, Lewis commented: “The bike was feeling flat out of corners so we’re going to try a few changes for warm up tomorrow morning and see how that works but despite not completing many laps overall so far I’m happy with 14th on the grid for the race.”
Warm up on Sunday morning resulted in 10th place for Lewis, however the actual race later in the day was a challenge for him.
He got held up several times and after having mud sprayed on his visor due to another rider crashing, he also struggled with his grip but still finished in 14th, scoring more championship points.
With just two races left Lewis sits 14th overall in the championship and has a seven-point gap to 10th place, so he has it all to play for to reach his final goal at Brands Hatch.
