Ammanford AFC have received the license needed to keep playing in Tier 2 of the Welsh Football Pyramid.
The FAW Tier 2 Licensing means Ammanford will compete in Tier 2 during the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
A meeting was held on May 7 and May 8 with the FAW Men’s Tier 2 Instance Body which assessed Ammanford on a range of criteria.
Ammanford AFC posted the following message on Facebook:
“Tier 2 License achieved.
“The FAW Men’s Tier 2 First Instance Body met on 7 & 8 May 2024 to consider the Tier 2 Licensing Applications for the 2024/25 season.
“The Panel assessed clubs against a number of infrastructure, personnel, legal and financial criteria.
“FAW Tier 2 Licensing is a mandatory requirement for clubs to participate at Tier 2 of the Welsh Football Pyramid for the 2024/25 season.
“Following this meeting, it is with great delight we can announce that we were successful in gaining this license. Thank you to all at the club who have worked hard to ensure Tier 2 football remains in our town.”
Ammanford ended the 2023/2024 season with 3-1 away win against Taffs Well.
The team also finished third in the table, seven points behind Llanelli Town and 14 points behind league champions Briton Ferry Llansawel.
