BEREAVEMENT - The celebration of the life of David Keith Morgan, of Clydach took place on August 15. A popular member of Pontardawe RAFA, Keith who died on August 4 was the devoted and loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. The funeral service took place on August 15 at St. Mary's Church, Clydach, followed by cremation at Swansea Crematorium, Morriston officiated by Revd. Lyndon Taylor.
FLOWER FESTIVAL - St. Peter's Flower Festival took place over the week end beginning on Friday, August 16, then on Saturday and Sunday. The theme this year was "The Glorious Company of The Apostles Paise You".
This was the 34th Flower Festival and a warm welcome was given to the Family Eucharist. The festival flower arrangements were carried out by church members and friends. There were many donations by business people and other. Musical accompaniment was provided by the Nemeth family, The 2 Tones, Demi Papp and Christopher Lloyd (Organ).
All proceeds of this successful event were given for the Church Restoration Fund.
CWMTAWE COMMUNITY SCHOOL - Environmental science visited Cwm Clydach RSPB reserve and Lliw Valley reservoir on Tuesday, June 25 whilst Year 10 Geography pupils travelled to Cardiff Bay on June 26 and Year 8 pupils visited Big Pit on July 1.
ECO DAY - An Eco Day was held recently for Year 7 pupils where they all spent the day taking part in workshops with the rain forest charity Size of Wales and Ynni Da, a renewable energy company.
