THE first meeting of the Cwarter Bach Community Council after the Summer break took place at the Ystradowen Community Centre on Wednesday, September 4.
Amongst matters discussed were the following: It was interesting to note that the new ARBED scheme was working on the possibility of the installation of gas supply to some parts of Upper Brynaman.
It is pleasing to report that the work on Cefn Bryn Brain Children’s Park is now complete.
In response to earlier concerns re. the state of footpaths within Cwarter Bach, the clerk has received an update of work completed within the last month.
Christmas lights within Cwarter Bach will be switched on on 6th December to coincide with the Christmas evening and Garland Parade arranged by Canolfan y Mynydd Du.
The news that a new committee has been formed was most welcomed and their future plans seem new, interesting and exciting.
Work on the cycle path from Brynaman to Ammanford is now complete and it is important that it be well used ,but concern was expressed at the lack of maintenance of the verges and the need for some seating on the Brynaman to Garnant section.
The condition of the Cefn Bryn Brain tennis court is causing concern and the County Council will be contacted to check on their responsibility on Health and Safety grounds.
