BEREAVEMENT - The passing of an Ynysmeudwy man took place peacefully at Singleton hospital on August 22. David Neil Bartlett was the loving father of Natalie and Matthew, cherished grandfather of Aliyah and Evan, adored son of Beryl and Fred, much loved brother of Michael and Mandy, adored uncle of Nathan, Desa and Zak, adored nephew of Betty, fiance of Donna. The funeral service was held at Bethesda Chapel, Ynysmeudwy, followed by inerment at Coedgwilym Cemetery, Clydach on August 31.
TABERNACLE CHAPEL - A concert will be held at the chapel on September 14 at 7pm. There will be two choirs, Cor y Traeth from North Wales, and Cor Dathlu from Ystradgynlais, plus artists.
Come along early to get a seat which is sure to be a sell out. Admission is £5.
CWMTAWE COMMUNITY SCHOOL - Design Technology - A workshop recently was run by small piece Trust in conjunction with RWE Npower Renewables for our budding engineers.
Pupils learnt about wind turbines, and then had to make their own, which were tested. Prizes were awarded for the best design and the best energy output.
BEREAVEMENT - Sadly on August 19 at her home in Pontardawe, Mrs Gladys Mona Hughes, beloved wife of the late Hugh, passed away, loving mother to Pamela and Vernon, cherished grandmother and great grandmother. The funeral service was on August 30, at Swansea Crematorium.
PONTARDAWE TOWN COUNCIL - St Peter's Church was well attended on August 18 for the Civic Service. Present were the town mayor councillor Sue Northcott, and members of the council. The service was conducted by Rev Gary Green. Neath Polyphonic Choir were present at the service.
SUPPER AND TALK - On Thursday, September 12 you are invited to Gosen Apostolic Church, Holly Street, Pontardawe for a free supper and talk on Christianity.
