CHURCH SERVICE – Sunday, September 22. St David’s Saron: United Parish in Llanedi at 10am.
SARON WI - At the Saron WI meeting held on Wednesday September 11th a new member was welcomed to the group. President informed the group that their 6th AGM will be held in the near future. The news letter was read producing interest from several members on future events on offer via the WI, enquiries to be made regarding these by Janine and Sue. It was confirmed that Lynn and Siwla were booked to attend the Go Green event.
After the news letter and business were dealt with our president introduced the evenings speaker who was Eirlys Pompa, president to the diocese of St David's Mother's Union.
Eirlys had been invited to give our group her advice and expertise for the making of our WI group banner. We were shown one of the banners she had made, along with some materials used in the process, Eirlys then went on to explain exactly how to go about designing and producing the finished item. All of our members found it extremely interesting and helpful, leaving us feeling keen to get on with producing our own unique design.
Our next WI meetng will be held on Wednesday October 9 at 7.30pm in Saron Village Hall.
The speaker for that evening will be a local representative of Fair Trade Products.
Fair Trade Products will be available for purchase at the meeting.
If you are considering joining the WI, why not come a long to our next meeting, meet us , listen to our speaker, see what news and events are on offer in the news letter, enjoy a cuppa.
Items of Fair Trade will also be available to purchase at this meeting.
