A letter was read out from Doris, thanking everyone for her birthday wishes. Winners in the County show were congratulated, results being a first for Frances (savoury tart), second and highly commended for Dawn (floral displays) and a second for Pauline and Wendy (life size figure).

Following the talk by Debbie Byers in June, arrangements have been made to hold a foot clinic in the hall on 15 October at 9am and every six weeks following. Anyone in need of foot care will be welcome, initial cost £25, then £8.50 for follow ups. The day trip to Leominster and Hampton Court Castle was arranged for a 9am departure from Cross Hands on Friday 4 October, with pickups along the way to the Temple Bar. Names and choices of lunch menu were taken and money for the entry to the Castle – any queries, contact Pauline.
Following tea break, members were entertained by Heather Summer, who expertly produced very unusual music on her violin with the aid of synthesisers to accompany the tunes. Jenny gave a vote of thanks for a very enjoyable and unusual presentation.
Next meeting will be October 10, new members always welcome.
MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - is being held on Friday, September 27 in Carmel Hall between 10am and 12noon. There will be stalls selling cakes, craft, bric-a-brac and nearly new clothing.
