PONTY SENIORS - The return of WAunarlwydd mixed choir was a welcome sight down at the neuadd on Friday evening. Singing as well as ever, they sang from an excellent repertoire, mainly in Welsh with one or two in English, Mrs Davida Lewis also brought along a party of young children, who gave a good account of themselves, and was well received by our members.
Soprano soloist was Lynne, with the Lord's prayer, musical director, Mrs Davida Lewis and at the piano - Bethan and Emily.
CWMTAWE COMMUNITY SCHOOL SPORTS - All teams years 7-11 reached the final of the Neath Port Talbot recently with years 7, 8 and 10 prvoing victorious, county champions in three age groups. All our rugby teams were successful in the 7-a-side tournaments.
Year 8 cricket team was crowned West Glamorgan Champs. Congratulations to Justin Tipuric who is the latest ex Cwmtawe pupil to represent the British and Irish Lions. Dan Baker, former pupil gained his first cap between Wales and Japan.
BEREAVEMENT - The funeral of a local lady who passed away on September 3 took place on September 17 at Swansea Crematorium - Lynne Annette Maruscha. Beloved parter of Michael, devoted mam of Laura, much loved daughter of Pam and the late Frank, dear sister of Stephen, Phill and Sara, and sister-in-law of Jane. Loving aunt of her nephews and nieces. Missed greatly by Helen and Jessica. Officiating Clergy - Rev Lois Williams.
