CROSS CENTRE, PONTARDAWE - For the next fortnight, there will be an exhibition of paintings and drawings by students under Hillary Brianston. They will be shown between 12pm and 3pm every Thursday.
SWANSEA VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - The society, at the Cross Centre meet ever third Wednesday of the month, next meeting will be October 16, subject- Ancient Greece.

PONTY SENIORS - Mr Lawrence Bowen, former musical director of Trebanos mixed choir, came o visit the OAP on Friday, October 4 to give a good evening's entertainment by singing solos and showing his expertise on the piano. He was introduced by Wynford and thanked by Gareth.

BEREAVEMENT - Pontardawe lady - Mrs Frances James (Nee Clist) a resident of Danybryn residential home, and formerl of Gwyrddgoed Road, Pontardawe, passed away peacefully at Morriston on September 20, aged 89.
Frances was the devoted wife of the late Lewis John, loving mother of David, John, Roy and Robert. Mother-in-law to Rosalind, Ann and Rhian. Grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Loving sister to the late William, Eva and Mary and sister-in-law Peggy and Douglas. Sister-in-law to Betty, Brenda and the late Mair, Catherine and Melvyn.
The funeral service was on September 30 at her home, prior to cremation at Swansea Crematorium.
