PONTY SENIORS - A film show was presented to the seniors on Friday evening, Mr Arwel Michael, a well-known rambler and walker, gave an excellent one-hour presentation on the village of Le dicie that was raised to the ground by the Germans during the war in Czechoslovakia. He was thanked by Brian Francis.
GRAIG CHAPEL TREBANOS - There will be an afternoon of Carol singing at the chapel on December 8 at 3pm. This has been arranged by Mr Lawrence Bowen, who will also be the organist. Join us for tea and mince pies after the service.
BEREAVEMENT - Mr John Dennis Stead, an ex Royal Marine, passed away peacefully on November 10 aged 94. Beloved husband of the late Betty, devoted father to Clive, Brian and Marian, dear father-in-law to Jeannette, Dee and Jim. Adored grandfather to Melanie, Jonathan, Bethan, Rian, Lauren, Craig, Matthew, Rebecca, Katy and Kayley, and a precious great-grandfather. The service was at St Peter's Church Pontardawe, followed by committal at Swansea Crematorium. Officiating by Rev Gary Green, Vicar.
TREBANOS CHAPEL, PONTARDAWE - A grand concert was held at the chapel on November 23, in aid of Llangiwg restoration fund. Morriston Orpheus choir were there to entertain under the musical direction of conductor Joy Amman Davies. The soloist was nationally renowned baritone - Eirian Davies, accompanist was Alice REed.
ST MARY'S CHURCH, CLYDACH - An armistice concert was held at the Church on November 8, with the Gwaun Cae Gurwen silver band, guest soloist was Ashley Rogers.
